Aesthetic Distance at Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich was initially going to be an exhibition in a gallery, in March 2020, but after postponing the plan for a year due to a number of lock-downs we decided to opt for an online feature. No archival pigment prints. No brushed silver frames.

Although this is not the first time Aesthetic Distance is exhibited, this show is a little different from what I put on walls at Triskel Arts Centre (Cork, 2018) and The Library Project (Dublin, 2020). At this point the work is most likely known to my audience. I bore that in my mind while curating and then transforming the content into a three-part presentation, so that the virtual show still provokes - thoughts - and gives further insight into this project.

And I hope it will be still exciting for you to visit.

Cultúrlann Mc Adam Ó Fiaich is an Irish language, arts and cultural centre located at the heart of West Belfast. Virtual exhibition video produced in collaboration with Will McConnell.
