I was a self-initiated solo exhibition that took the form of a trial site-specific video and sound installation. It consisted of two distinct video works which I accompanied by an object that held a significant meaning within the work. One was a multi-channel video piece I (2023) and the other was a single-channel video piece I Am the Artist (2022) presented to the public for the very first time. The video works were projected across four walls, to the size of 160 x 285 cm on each wall, using four manually synchronized projectors.
The installation featured new material that I produced during my experimenting with the medium of performance, field work and video recording. With the curatorial guidance from Sara Muthi, I presented this material in an installation that provided the work with a new context that contemplated my position as the author and the viewer as the reviewer of my artwork.
The exhibition claimed The Dean Art Studios’ gallery space as the extension of my artist’s studio. Viewers were expected to enter my, the artist’s, headspace where ideas reside tender and unrefined.
